wireless does not work

I'm using the latest and greatest version of Ubuntu and sometimes I lose my internet connection and I have to restart my wireless adapter to get it to work again. this only happens in Ubuntu as I dual boot into windows 7 and that works fine there. so what's the fix the Ubuntu way

In order to help you with your problem, it would help if you provided at least the make and model of your wireless device.

And what is the latest and greatest version? Be more specific. There are differences.

I suggest you plug in an ethernet hardwire cable and get your updates and you will probably be offered the restricted drivers for your wireless card then.

Also look in System->Administration->Synaptics package manager and search for and install:

ubuntu-restricted-extras
