    Card reader issue

    Hi everyone!
I'm using Ubuntu 9.04 on an Acer Aspire 5737z, and almost everything works fine. There is a bug with the card reader (I've been googling around and it seems it was a bug on previous versions of Ubuntu), and it causes Ubuntu only to see the card reader if there is a card inside at boottime. In that case, it works perfectly, but otherwise it has no clue of a card reader. It doesn't seem a kernel bug, because I've tried Fedora 11 and it works. Therefore, my gess is that there is a workaround. Any clue? Thanks in advance!

Its either a BIOS problem with all Acer laptops, or there's a detection on startup issue. I haven't been able to get a reliable answer for either.

    Re: Card reader issue

I think it may be a little of both... Because as I say, Fedora didn't have problems; while Debian can't even boot if there is an SD card inside (and of course, it does not detect it). I've been trying some distros to see which one I like more for my laptop
