Question How to upgrade gstreamer in Hardy?

I'd like to have the very latest (stable) gstreamer for Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy.

Where to look for it? Possibly some PPA?

Compiling is out of the question, I am a noob at linux.

I need it for Moovida (ex Elisa), and right now divx videos often appear blocky, I hope the newer versions of gstreamer do a better job at that.

I use totem movie player and it works great. Is it all movies that are choppy or just that one? I would think it should auto update, or you could try the command sudo apt-get update gstreamer in the terminal or the official gstreamer site would have the newest version http://www.gstreamer.net/

Re: How to upgrade gstreamer in Hardy?

I think all divx/xvid (not sure exactly, maybe even both) movies are blocky, while the other codecs work fine. The question is not exactly how to update, but where to find packages for Hardy. The latest I found are from 2008-08-11 (https://launchpad.net/~gstreamer-team/+archive/ppa) and www.gstreamer.net says the latest version is from 2009-06.
