Red face 9.10 doesn't show dual boot options

I HAVE to use Vista at work but, like to dual boot into Ubuntu when I get the chance. I have just installed Ubuntu 9.10 and when I reboot there is no Vista option - just Ubuntu.
How can I get the Vista option, I have never taken note of the Lines in the Grub section... never had to.

I have tried Supergrub but, it seems it doesn't have the settings for 9.10 although, 9.04 it can work with.
What is different about 9.10 that has meesed up the Grub dual boot options?

Cheers...

Re: 9.10 doesn't show dual boot options

V 9.10 is in "alpha" stage, hasn't even made it to "beta" yet. You should be happy that ANYTHING works, and certainly not be upgrading a stable installation to it at this point.

See the attached schedule below. The beta isn't even due out for 2 1/2 months yet!

Yeh....Karmaric aka 9.10 in testing stage....not suitable for stable use
use 9.04 stabele version out now.....perhaps install 9.04 helps u to resolve your problem...coz 9.04 use old but stable grub ...9.10 use next generation grub2...a brand new version of grub....

so go back to stable 9.04.....

Re: 9.10 doesn't show dual boot options

Not quiet right, Grub2 is able to dual boot let alone triple boot.

# sudo apt-get install os-prober
# sudo os-prober
# update-grub2

that should do it. os-prober checks if grub2 can see the 'Viru$ta' partition.

Good luck
