Hi all,
I am fairly new to Linux and trying to set up a LAMPS server to connect via the company router. The network looks like this:
Ubuntu LAMPS Server
IP address: 192.168.11.1
|
|
Gateway (Cisco Router) Ip address: 192.168.10.3
|
|
Windows Server (DNS Server) 192.168.10.10
I know many would say it is not the right thing to use two subnets, but that is just the way the network is set up and I have to live with it.
My setup on Ubuntu as below:
ifconfig:
eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:23:54:6f:64:0b
inet addr:192.168.11.1 Bcast:192.168.11.255 Mask:255.255.255.0

I have also executed
route add -host 192.168.10.3 eth0
route add default gw 192.168.10.3 eth0
as per many suggestions I found by browsing, but to no avail.
I cannot ping the gateway at all.
Any suggestions on where I am still going wrong?
Thanks
Tom
