8.10 on ps3 totally lost

ALL the guides i find are made assuming your ps3 interal disk drive reads media. (which mine is broke) SO can someone please tell me how to install the 8.10 for ps3 without using any kind of disk- only using flash drive? I know people have done it but im lost on how to do it. Thanks.

bump.. so is a working blu-ray totally required? Would it work to use a external usb cr-rom to install to ps3?

im trying to install debian live on ps3 now... i got it to go to my flash drive by using this command- cd /dev/sdc1: but im confused on what to do now...
