How do I make Firefox 3.5 the default Firefox?

    Hi,

I have firefox-3.0 and firefox-3.5 installed in /usr/bin. /usr/bin/firefox seems to load 3.0. My icon at the top of the screen loads 'firefox %u', which again loads 3.0. What is the elegant way to make 3.5 my default?

I want to keep 3.0 because 3.5 is slightly incompatible with my webmail. Is there an elegant way to allow me to choose 3.0?

if you want to make 3.5 the default one, just go at system preferences preferred apps and choose firefox-3.5 %u instead of firefox %u

as for the mail, i have the same problem, i would like to see someone saying how to solve this

Re: How do I make Firefox 3.5 the default Firefox?

    Hi,

I changed it manually in Preferred Apps, as well as my quick launcher and the Applications menu. I've added another Firefox icon to my panel, which points to 3.0.11, with my webmail as its default homepage. So I can check my mail using the old Firefox.

For the record, I'm having problems with mail.com, not hotmail. The problem is that the text entry area extends past the right hand side of the screen. It is possible (and mandatory) to type text into an area that cannot be viewed. No horizontal scrollbar appears to allow the user to reveal what he has typed.
