    Any difference from remove a windows pc and install ubuntu? Thanks.

    If I am understanding your question right, then it doesn't make sense to try and put Linux on what is essentially a Unix machine(Mac). I'm curious... why would you want to do this?

    Technically, you can. I wouldn't recomment it, however, mostly because you can't install firmware updates if you don't have OSX. Of course, if you don't like OSX taking soace on your hard drive, you can install it on an external drive, but it's better to still have it somewhere.

    I agree with Bachstelze. Just take note that there are huge amounts of free software available for Linux this is true, but many of these applications have been ported and are available in some form on commercial versions of UNIX.

    If you do it, make sure to back up your MacOS.
