    Desktop Composition Problems

I've been having desktop problems ever since I installed compiz. Now, AWN won't run. I get a "screen not composited" error whenever I try to run it. Also, when I boot, my desktop flashes weird colors. It's really driving me nuts. I must have toggled a setting. Before, I would be able to enable "Extra" desktop effects with the snapping and wobbly windows. AWN would work fine there. Now, it says that desktop effects could not be enabled. Can anyone help? I have a Dell Inspiron 6400 / E1505 128mb ATI X1300 Video Graphics Card - WF147. Please help me!

It'll take a while, as I cannot access my desktop. See the problem at http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1207067.

I pretty much solved the problem by reinstallation (because of the login screen...). Consider this solved!
