    Uninstalling programs in gnome 2.26.1

Does anyone know how I can uninstall programs installed WITH GNOME 2.26.1???

Anytime I try to uninstall program that came installed with it, it won't let me. It makes me have to uninstall GNOME in order to uninstall the program. (i.e. evolution, abiword, gnome games, epiphany web browser.)

These apps don't take up much disk space.
Why do you want to remove them?

I'm sure it's possible to remove them with synaptic and not remove gnome. It should just warn you that it is breaking the gnome meta package.

I guess everyone is right, they don't take up room, and I have no choice.

I guess it's more about my OCD than anything.

I just removed evolution without removing GNOME?
And I don't have epiphony or abiword.
It also would allow me to remove gnome games without removing gnome.

Are you using synaptic to remove them?

Why did you start another thread on the same subject?

Again, you want to run sudo aptitude remove evolution

I installed GNOME manually, so I don't have the distribution CD version.

Apparently, they are different. One let's you uninstall certain problems, while the other one is tied to them...

Weird, but that appears to be my conclusion.
