How do you do with webcam ? My webcam is retourned with Karmic ...
No matter how great your product is, if you don't throw time and money against it it's a sh#tt# system. ubuntu <-> apple <-> microsoft
I know. But with karmic, that doesn't work ... With Juanty was OK, not with Karmic.
(sorry for my english)
My flipped webcam returned to normality after following the instructions at this url:

A new mistery about audio settings:
At boot with headphone unplugged I can hear everything from pc speakers.
When I plug in headphone, music disappear from speakers and comes from headphone (and that's good)
Now the mistery....if I try to get more volume using Sound Preferences applet, suddenly speakers turn on and music comes from both headphone and speakers.
Can somebody please give me some clues?
I better browsed arjan's site so I discovered his driver is already in Linux Kernel since 2.6.28.
It works with Elantech's type 1 and 2....it seems K50's one is from another type not known to the driver.
Still searching for the solution....
GOOD NEWS!!!! Arjan wrote to me....we'll begin to debug Asus K50's Elan Touchpad.

Partial solution for me in Karmic, that auto-mute speakers if headphone plugged in.
In sound preferences, go to the output tab and change connector (? i don't know the exact name I use hungarian translation, it's the combo box on the bottom) to Analog Headphones.
Now use alsamixer from terminal and increase Headphone and PCM to 100%, and mute Front with m (if not muted already). Changing Master Front and the muted Front, while leaving muted change the volume.
Note: If I move Master Front above appr. 70% I have a constant noise from my headphone, in that case lower Master Front, and increase Front's volume.
Problems:
1) The sound volume applet change the Headphone Channel, this changes nothing in the real volume. You can use alsamixer to change volume.
2) After logging in the Front volume will be 0%
To make everything work as it should, we should contact ALSA developers I think, or there might be some settings of alsa which help but docs on those are too difficult for me.
