Well the laptop originally comes with linux but I wanted ubuntu..
I had some problems and solved them after googeling a lot..
run this command and wlan will work
I think this is not the best solution.. but it works
sudo apt-get install linux-backports-modules-jaunty
Compile own WLAN
I can't say it's better/worser..
I did it .. but i can't see any improvement..
compared to linux-backports-modules-jaunty
DONT USE THIS ! USE SOUND 2 !
Sound is more work
Get the ALSA updater script from:
Extract it .. and make it executable ! and run it
-di will download and install newest ALSA
sudo ./AlsaUpgrade-1.0.x-rev-1.17.sh -di
Then run this script: (found at https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/ubun...23/comments/38)
And add this line before "exit 0"
tar xf hda-verb-0.3.tar.gz
cp hda-verb /usr/bin
Reboot and your sound will work
hda-verb /dev/snd/hwC0D0 0x1c SET_EAPD_BTLENABLE PCM
Reboot and it will work
tar xf alsa-driver-unstable-snapshot.tar.gz
sudo make install
If you used Sound 1 ! Don't forget to change back the edited /etc/rc.local file !
Executing wine stops the sound play back, no idea why.. just restart VLC,Rythmox
or what ever you use..and it will work again..
I upgraded my ext3 to ext4 .. and sound was crackeling..
look at the attached image, make sure PCM is at 100%
After every boot PCM is a 0%
and add before "exit 0" this:
sudo gedit /etc/rc.local
and/or also add it into the autostart (Session-manager) !
Found at: http://radu.cotescu.com/2009/07/31/r...ams-in-ubuntu/
And for copy and past:
And it will be done..
chmod +x flip_webcam
After a kernel update run again:
If left and right is also wrong.. then use the "2"
LCD brightness FN-Keys
(also solves flickering)
add to this line
sudo gedit /boot/grub/menu.lst
# defoptions=quiet splash
save and do:
# defoptions=quit splash acpi_backlight=vendor
Reboot.. and it will work
