    Triboot with external hard drive - legacy OS ??

    I have installed Kubuntu 9.04/64 (later upgrading to the alphas) on a 1TB WD external hard drive. The hard drive was already split in two; i used the smallest one and chomped it for "/", "/home" and the swap.

    Here's the background:
    * I am using my early 2008 Macbook (2GHz,4GB,X3100,80GB),
    * which has both Mac OS and Windows inside the internal hard drive.
    * I haven't touched the internal hard drive.
    * installed boot loader (assuming GRUB 1.x)

    The bloat: rEFIt won't boot Kubuntu - accused of being "legacy OS" and firmware not compatible, iara iara… here's the image:

    Has anyone been through this before? How am I supposed to solve this issue?

    Thanks for the help!
