how to get new firefox on ubuntu?

to be honest i expected the update manager to have the new firefox ready to go, but that was not the case, then i expected firefox's website to have a .deb ready for me, no go on that one either.

how do i replace the old firefox (not looking to have two versions of firefox installed)? not finding much on google (just tips to install 3.5 when it was in beta)

hi,
firefox 3.5 final version is available for download. wait for sometimes to get it in official ubuntu repo. if u want to try it now, get .tar.bz2 format file for linux from www.mozilla.com. extract it & execute firefox.sh (or something like this) to run it. u can make a launcher for it to open it quickly.

It's already on the repos. Just install the package firefox-3.5

I don't know if that's the final release though. It was already there a couple of days ago.

I'm not sure whether I should install this package or wait for the firefox package to be upgraded.

They updated the firefox-3.5 package to the release version now.
