It's in Jaunty repositories. If you're running Intrepid, as your profile suggests, you can get it direct from Mozilla.

Every time a new Ubuntu version is released the forums fill with people complaining how it's full of bugs and everybody should stick to some older release. Still, for most of us every new release works even better than old ones did.
(And Ati is definitely supported in 9.04. The thing is that Ati/AMD decided to drop support for older graphics cards in their proprietary drivers. However these cards are supported by open-source drivers now, and at least all my systems work better than they ever did with Ati's proprietary driver..)
You should definitely try 9.04 yourself, and not take such complaints as absolute truths.
Anyway, FF3.5 will be released in couple of days. Browsers reported to support video/Audio tags (which means at least some level of support for HTML5) are Firefox 3.5 beta 4, Opera 9.52 preview, Google Chrome 3 and Safari 3.4/Safari 4.
ok i will give 9.04 a try, besides if there is any problems i can contribute by bug reporting
i was really only worried about the ATI thing anyway, but i have a new-ish graphics card.
