where did you get a .bin file? usually its an iso file and should only be around 700 meg

Along the same line always get the image from here

I just checked with starting a download from here: http://ubuntu-cd.mirror.iweb.ca/9.04/
and the file was 699meg

Don't extract the .iso file, just burn it as is.
Thanks for your interest.
My sw, Brasero, claims the file is 802 Mb and it doesnt give me the option to burn this Ubuntu disc to iso.

where did you get it from? none of the official cds should be over 700 meg

When you downloaded the file from the site, did it come as the .bin? if it did then you may have downloaded the wrong file. Try and redownload it. Don't do anything with the downloaded file until you run brasero.

Scroll down for the torrents. As you'll see and has been mentioned. 699meg.
Maybe that extra 100Mb is the bit that makes 9.04 work without bugs
