I would't drop the Windows install just yet. I'm using the time demo right now and I;m not too impressed. I can't play Dawn of War or get the new Star Wars: Empire at War demo to work.

I was pretty disappointed in Cedega, I was unable to get any of my games to play (mostly older games) such as Civilization III, SimCity 3000. Theme Hospital installed and played but the mouse was unplayably sluggish and jumpy, and Tropico had no mouse at all but had sound and played. Some games didn't install at all. I was ready to buy Cedega and wipe out my old Windows drive and give it a much smaller (20g instead of 50g) and give the 30 to Ubuntu. Unfortunately, I never got it to work much so I'm still stuck switching to Windows for decent gaming

    Doesn't Civ 3 have a native port?

I don't understand why cedega is subscription That adds up to a bit over time. Id rather just pay $20-50 up front than $5/month.

The only native Civ games I've heard of for linux are Cilivation: Call To Power, and FreeCiv.

I'm actully having decent luck with the 5 series, I got GW up and running, laggy as hell but I got it working and then as always Starwars Knights 1 and 2 work, starcraft/broodwar/ war3, Haven't tried HL-2 yet as I just beat it before installing ubuntu...
