    Re: BSNL WLL phone

Some more advice for you! I saw you edit /etc/wvdial.conf and tried to run wvdial, but I didn't see that you first ran wvdialconf. This command will detect any modems connected to your machine. So try it - the program will detect the modem (if it can) and write necessary config info to /etc/wvdial.conf. It must be run as root, ie

    Code:
    sudo wvdialconf

    Re: BSNL WLL phone

ON your advice i gave the following command:
    [code]sudo wvdialconf[\code]
    the output is:
    dinesh@HOME:~$ sudo wvdialconf
    Editing `/etc/wvdial.conf'.

Scanning your serial ports for a modem.

    ttyS0<*1>: ATQ0 V1 E1 -- failed with 2400 baud, next try: 9600 baud
    ttyS0<*1>: ATQ0 V1 E1 -- failed with 9600 baud, next try: 115200 baud
    ttyS0<*1>: ATQ0 V1 E1 -- and failed too at 115200, giving up.
    ttyS1<*1>: ATQ0 V1 E1 -- failed with 2400 baud, next try: 9600 baud
    ttyS1<*1>: ATQ0 V1 E1 -- failed with 9600 baud, next try: 115200 baud
    ttyS1<*1>: ATQ0 V1 E1 -- and failed too at 115200, giving up.
    Modem Port Scan<*1>: S2 S3

Sorry, no modem was detected! Is it in use by another program?
Did you configure it properly with setserial?

Please read the FAQ at http://open.nit.ca/wiki/?WvDial

If you still have problems, send mail to <wvdial-list@lists.nit.ca>.

What shall i have to do now?

This is really an unusual error.

You can try an alternative solution like

    1) Press Alt+F2

    2) Type gksu nautilus

    3) Enter password

    4) navigate to /etc/udev/rules.d/ and create a new file as you wish and enter the contents.

    hope it helps buddy.
