Need to re-organize mp3s by tag

A few years ago, I lost all the music on my computer, so I just copied over the music directory from my ipod. I've been trying to organize my collection in the past few days, and I need help organizing it. The files from the ipod are stored really cryptically; things like folder F01 and filenames like kpod0226886.mp3. I would like to organize them into artist/album/title, but I'm not really sure. I use Amarok, and I tried to do that, but it has completely frozen my computer twice now.

I need some tool or script that can read the tag information from the songs (~2200), which are mp3 and m4a, and rename/organize them. I don't need to transcode them, because I don't want to lose audio quality. Anyone know of a good tool to do this?

    Thanks for the replies.

+1 for EasyTAG. The function is called "Scanner" and can either rename your files based on tags, or tag your files based on the filename. Quite handy.
