connect a ps3 to jaunty

Ok if there is already a thread on this i apologize, i couldn't find anything.
if there is one just direct me to it.
Ok about a week ago i bought a ps3.
ok so i set up an AD HOC network i hopes for net sharing but i have made an AD HOC network and my PS3 insn't picking it up.
any ideas.
OH and i have found a few how tos on this subject and they all say the same thing. exactly what i have done.

I think the PS3 only works in infrastructure mode. A limitation of the PS3.

I tried to share a 3G connection with my PS3 over an ad-hoc WIFI lan and couldn't get it to work.

GRRRR i really really dont wanna have to buy a wireless router.
any one know any other solutions to buying one?
