Installing 9.0.4 on an Unibody MacBook Pro 13" 5,5

    Hello Community!

I've been searching for a thread about installing Jaunty on the last generation MacBook Pro available since last week.

Did anybody got issues with trackpad, sound and captors drivers as well as with the nVidia 9400M?

I didi many PC installs but it is my first one on a mac and I cannot find documentation about the macbookpro5,5 anywhere!

    Thanks for helping!

I used the generic Mactel support manual together with Macbook Pro 5,1 instructions. Currently sound doesn't work, though (see my thread few posts down in this forum).

Thanks for the tip, but I am really anxious about installing a version that could burn the mac out without the good drivers! I've read that some fan controll could be missing, as well as the light sensible keyboard, etc...

I couldn't find any info on my MPB model!

Anybody tried that on these perfect new little notebooks?

Well, here's the copy of the 5,1 page with everything I got to work myself... but, yes, I gave up on running Ubuntu on 5,5, too, since such a lot of stuff doesn't work. Looks okay on the surface, but I don't feel good running Ubuntu in such a state myself. My personal milestone will be 9.10 - it's pretty selfish, but I hope the community may have fixed a lot of stuff till then.

    Hi NorQue,

Have you tried the Ubuntu Karmic Alpha3 Live CD on your MacBookPro5-5?
Anything interesting to report, like sound, reboot, etc?

Everything works on Jaunty, except rebooting and headphone!

    What about Lucid (10.04)?
