Can't start upgrade

To 9.04 from the last version. I get an error message.

Failed to Extract. Extracting the upgrade failed.  
There may be a problem with the network or the server

Upgrade has worked previously with a couple of other boxes.

It's usually easier, and better, to back up your files and everything you want/need and then just do a fresh install of 9.04.

agreed, this box has some tricky customizations. but i do have a recent image I can recover to.
