    QtSixA version: 1.5.0
Will use 'kdesudo' for root actions
QInotifyFileSystemWatcherEngine::addPaths: inotify_add_watch failed: Datei oder Verzeichnis nicht gefunden
QFileSystemWatcher: failed to add paths: /home/highnz/.config/ibus/bus
    ---------------------------------------------------
3.and i have the same picture in "joystick kde-controlmodul" on Natty live without qtsixa installed
but is not configure able too

    4. I try step 9 again but the LED going not off

I have the same issue too.
It's about this special device - 'Gasia Co.,Ltd PS(R) Gamepad', that is not a real Sixaxis.
it behaves differently than a normal Sixaxis, and I was not able to make it work so far... (even in USB)

But you're saying that it works in Windows?
Do you use some custom driver or does it just work?

    Hi
    Thanks for the fast response
Means this " It's about this special device - 'Gasia Co.,Ltd PS(R) Gamepad'"
That my device is not a original sony dualshock3 pad?

my dualschock3 works on windowsXP and Seven with this driver http://www.motioninjoy.com/home-index-1.html the install it was tricky but its works

Yes, it means you don't have an original Sixiaxis, but an imitation of it
(actually a very good imitation I would say, looks just like the real thing)
If you bought it from someone saying it was the real deal, I would trade it back...

Thanks, I'll install this in a virtual machine and try to find out more about this weird device.

Re: HOW-TO: Connect Sixaxis to Ubuntu trough bluetooth mode

    Hi!

I am looking for some help with QTSixA 1.50. I am pretty excited to use this with my media centre and I feel it will be the perfect pairing once I get it working!

I am trying to connect my Dualshock 3 to Ubuntu 11.04 and am not having any luck. I have tested bluetooth on it's own and it is working.

I have tried a few different things, and I am sure I must be missing a step somewhere:

    What I did is this:

    A fresh install of 11.04

    Install QTSixA through the PPA:

    sudo add-apt-repository ppa:falk-t-j/qtsixa
    sudo apt-get update
    sudo apt-get install qtsixa

I also tried it with and without doing upgrades to the system after the fresh install as well as after installing QTSixA

I ran QTSixA, let the user get added to the sixad group

Rebooted (yes, I know I can just log off and on, but I wanted to make sure that everything was coming up right.

Plugged in via USB, the controller shows up, I then tried to pair. The report window that comes up is blank.

So I tried to force a connection, and then paired, normally I still get nothing, however I have gotten this error a couple of times:

    Code:
    (gksu:2854): Gdk-CRITICAL **: IA__gdk_window_get_events: assertion `GDK_IS_WINDOW (window)' failed

    (gksu:2854): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: g_object_ref: assertion `G_IS_OBJECT (object)' failed

    (gksu:2854): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: g_object_unref: assertion `G_IS_OBJECT (object)' failed
I have also tried running sixad manually, the error here tips me off that something might not be right on the 11.04 install:

    Code:
    tv@tv-Veriton-N282G:~$ qtsixa
    Qt version: 4.7.2
    PyQt version: 4.8.3
    QtSixA version: 1.5.0
Will use 'gksu' for root actions
    error here, 3

I did see in some earlier posts that there have been issues with bluetooth and the kernel with 11.04 so I have tried with fresh and not so fresh installs of Ubuntu 10.10 and have had similar issues, I haven't had any luck, which tells me that there is a good chance that I may be doing something wrong.

Thank you in advance for any help that you can give me!

An update on my previous post. I found a controller labeled Sixaxis and am having the same problems trying to connect it.

The devices labeled "Gasia Gamepad" are tricky and they don't work right now.

As I said before, the GUI needs some tune-up, some stuff stopped working...

I'll publish a complete tutorial for QtSixA very very soon, but for now, try this:

1 - connect your sixaxis via USB (so as the bluetooth adapter, if not internal), and run:
    Code:
    sudo sixpair
then disconnect the sixaxis (usb cable)

2 - run sixad, and press the PS button on the sixaxis:
    Code:
    sudo sixad -s

There are a lot of issues with Natty's kernel (because 'hcid' simply doesn't work).
I'll need to investigate this more.

    MAJOR NOTE:
If you're not using Ubuntu 11.04/Natty, you can force the sixaxis to *always* work by:
1 - enable sixad at boot:
    Code:
    sudo sixad --boot-yes
    2 - remove bluez completely:
    Code:
    sudo apt-get remove bluez bluetooth
You won't be able to do any bluetooth stuff this way, but it makes the sixaxis *always* work.
(Again, it will NOT work on Natty)

    Complete documentation coming soon!

Is there a command to disconnect sixaxis ? (I did a quick search and did not find an answer)
    Thanks.

    You can use 'hcitool'

    simple usage: (requires root/sudo)
    Code:
    hcitool dc <mac-address>
to get the list of macs, use:
    Code:
    hcitool con

    Hello,

I was wondering if you can use a DS3 to emulate a mouse and keyboard shortcuts on ubuntu with QtSixA?

    Thx.
