The irony is the line that you wrote is the only output I get... its like it refuses to connect to it.

funny, yesterday it was 1.2.0.0 beta (i think) but now its 1.5.0.0 but still wont work... (didnt work out yesterday too.)

ask my for any input/output and ill give it out, i've been running after this such of pairing program since windows 7 came out but it didnt work out too.

the thing i think of the most is ; if its possible to do so with the onboard bluetooth device of my lappy.

if you connect the sixaxis over usb, with the bluetooth dongle on too,
    what is the output of:
    Code:
    sudo sixpair
    ?

Re: HOW-TO: Connect Sixaxis to Ubuntu trough bluetooth mode

    I get this out:
    Code:
    Current Bluetooth master: 00:1b:fb:45:f0:dd
    Setting master bd_addr to 00:0d:f0:7a:35:82
    USB_REQ_SET_CONFIGURATION: Broken pipe
putting it back up again; does it have to be with some kind of a bluetooth stick (usb connected one) or it can be done with the laptop one?

well, anyway, the pairing didn't work:
    "USB_REQ_SET_CONFIGURATION: Broken pipe" means errors

without pairing first, bluetooth will certainly not work...

I'll have to check this once I get home later today

Re: HOW-TO: Connect Sixaxis to Ubuntu trough bluetooth mode

I think iv'e found out something...

    Code:
    Orginally from https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Sixaxis

    "..
    Requirements

Must be using kernel version 2.6.21 or later..."
    and from running:
    Code:
     file /usr/bin/file

/usr/bin/file: ELF 32-bit LSB executable, Intel 80386, version 1 (SYSV), dynamically linked (uses shared libs), for GNU/Linux 2.6.15, stripped
    It means something isnt it?

My bad, didnt figure out Lucid comes out with 2.6.3x kernels, haha.

Generally, it feels like im missing something, doesnt a joystick or some sort of device manager for joystick needed to be installed in order to set something to it? like x11 joystick input or something.

or the program itself is mounting the joystick out as a standalone?

Re: HOW-TO: Connect Sixaxis to Ubuntu trough bluetooth mode

    Hi,

I hope this issue wasnt already brought up but i dont have the patience to trudge through the whole 62 pages on this post. Anyway here goes

I have no blue-tooth on my pc and was just hoping to connect my six-axis via USB so i can play some emulator games. I tried going through this tutorial

    https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Sixaxis#USB%20Pairing

but got lost about half way through. I then installed the program on this post. The program recognises my controller but I don't seem to be able to get it to work. Also it recognises it on gens/gs but it wont let me set up the buttons.

am i missing something or doing something wrong?

    hope someone can help

I just realised i installed version 1.5 instead of 1.2.1 ( I'm using mint which is built on lucid) would this be a factor?
