Hi,
Since upgrading to Jaunty I regularly get messages saying I running out of disc space. This has never happened before.
du shows /var/log is the problem ~6.5Gb.
kern.log and messages and syslog seem excessive at ~1.5Gb each with thousands consecutive entries like:-
=======================================
Jun 13 17:58:29 ahg kernel: [12371.936020] urb status -32
==========================================
the only thing changing from line to line being the number after the dot in the [ ] brackets. This cannot be right.
What does it mean? My research suggests it's a usb problem
My /etc/logrotate.conf file is:-
=============================================
# see "man logrotate" for details
# rotate log files weekly
weekly
# keep 4 weeks worth of backlogs
rotate 2
# create new (empty) log files after rotating old ones
#create
# uncomment this if you want your log files compressed
compress
# packages drop log rotation information into this directory
include /etc/logrotate.d
# no packages own wtmp, or btmp -- we'll rotate them here
/var/log/wtmp {
missingok
monthly
create 0664 root utmp
rotate 1
}
/var/log/btmp {
missingok
monthly
create 0660 root utmp
rotate 1
}
# system-specific logs may be configured here
================================================
Thanks
