How to make eclipse appear in Applications->Programming?

I just downloaded eclipse ganymede and untar it and I am ready to use eclipse because the apt-get was giving older eclipse.
My real problem is how to make that downloaded eclipse appear in Applications->Programming or to create a Desktop link with icon?

Right click on Applications and choose Edit Menus. You probably want it under Programming, so click on that, then click New Item. For the command, enter whatever command starts Eclipse from the terminal. (It may be as simple as 'eclipse').
