Have you ever found something in the second-to-last place you looked?
If it seems like I am ignoring you, perhaps I am.

at this stage in the development, it may be difficult to come up with a likable virtual person.

It is very plausible that this will happen but would you really want one?

What games can you play on it? Chess? Tetris? Quake Live? Starcraft?
    Or just some time wasting

There are many good things about this like having no controler, which lead to very poor game experience.
    #1. Controler lag.
    #2. Controler inaccuracy.
    #3. Too long configure time.
#4. Too long learning curve of how to do specific movements in games, every game needs a walk through.. not just plug in and begin.
#5. Difficult to play most games on this thing, biggest potential are time wasting activities like the sims, fishing simulators, cloud spotting simulators and cooking simulators, World of Warcraft, Diablo... etc. There wasn't a single actual game where wits and skills of the player are everything.
#6. Video anomalies disrupt gameplay controlers.

I'll be waiting for the next generation of this, this one is utter junk.
you don't know what you are talking about. what does the content of a game have to do with it's controls? the controls are either good or they suck. that's up to the developer to implement. so you could get another shadow of colossus but with motion controls.
Microsoft showed that it's possible to have minority-report-like controls today.
watch the demos all over the net. project natal is going to rock. Nintendo proved that motion sensing control are the future. MS simply advanced the idea.

Natal is real alright, and pretty awesome.

It's the Milo demo I'm skeptical about.
I mean it's hard enough to simulate a real intelligence in text only.. Add to that facial expressions, voice synthesis and recognition and body language and it seems very unlikely it will happen any time soon. Or at least it won't be anything near what's presented in that video.

    what about paedophiles ?

that was obviously set up, yes the program might be real, but it won't work that well in practice, theres speech recognition, facial recognition, object recognition. non of that is good enough at the moment.
then theres the question, who would want to spend their time interacting with a small virtual boy?
Check out my little app. Tnote
