eepc battery/ac charging problems

Hi,

Well, my mom has a "netbook" built by asus; it is an eee pc. And suddenly, it has begun to have problems with the battery and ac power.When the AC power jack is plugged in, the power mode switches constantly between "Ac Power" and "Battery Saver." And a blue window pops up spamming her computer.

I am writing from the computer.

I am unsure which distro this is, but it is probably a linux OS programmed by Asus.

Any help I can get with this? I'm sure the terminals are similar (if I can find the equivalent on here).

Asus delivers Xandros Linux with their netbooks. Not Ubuntu.
