I just got a new ATT DSL installed and hooked up the ethernet connection to this thinkpad and when I tried to connect ATT complained that they require IE and Windows to complete the install..
How can I get around it?

I just went thru the ATT install procedure on the Windows XP partition of this computer and it downloaded and installed a bunch of programs that obviously required Windows. I think that the hour-long procedure binds the physical modem to email addresses and the security info.
So I conclude that the ATT DSL can only be installed via Windows.
That's the bad news.
The good news is that when I switched back to my trusty ubuntu partition it works just fine. I'm up now on the ATT DSL line. The other ubuntu computer also works fine.
I guess this problem is solved, kindof. Still, it would be nicer of ATT if it could be installed via ubuntu as well.
