    lightweight alternatives to Thunderbird?

Thinking switching to CLI mail app. I heard of Pine, Mutt, Mail...But how light is Claws 9gui) in terms of ram footprint?

Is there any way to access the SAME INBOX, using tbird and cli-based mail client?

    Re: lightweight alternatives to Thunderbird?

    Hi logos,

Well, I am a commandline junky and I have used mutt for quite some time but I am not so sure that it will share with Thunderbird for the excellent reason that I have not ever used Thunderbird . Claws I cannot comment on for the same reason.

If you wanted to take mutt for a test drive you could always setup a Gmail account and have a look at (yet another) guide I maintain on these forums:

    [Howto] Use Mutt with Gmail
    http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1021746

which gives the 'old school' method of doing this, no flashy IMAP here . This would give and indication of how mutt runs at least.

    All the best,

    Andrew
