f-spot import behavior changed; how to change it back?

Last year my wife and I started taking a serious number of photos, and f-spot worked nicely for importing them from the camera; it would copy them and place them under ~/Photos/<year>/<month>/<day> according to the timestamp on the image file.

Fast forward to now; I've upgraded to Jaunty Jackalope. Ignore the bug in either gvfs or f-spot that keeps f-spot from easily coming up when I connect the camera and turn it on for now; I entered the gvfs command to unmount the camera so f-spot would behave as before... I thought. I imported the images, and then went looking under ~/Photos where I expected them to be--and they weren't there. They were instead in my home directory, all in my home directory, timestamp not preserved and not placed in subdirectories by timestamp.

I have not changed my f-spot preferences to my knowledge. Looking at them, it shows that imported photos should go in Photos.

How can I get f-spot to behave as it did before?
