I want to change the ownership and the group of my /home directory (and all the files in it) to "jim". I tried using this terminal command:

chown -R jim:jim /home

I received an error that says: "chown: cannot access `/home/jim/.gvfs': Permission denied"

For some reason the .gvfs file is preventing the chown command from doing what it is supposed to.

How do I eliminate this problem?
