    open office lockup

I am using OpenOffice and tried to save the default file extensions for office 2000/xp, but now OO locks up and I have to force it to quit. Also, after I saved the file extension to be compatible with m$, it still defaults back to ODF. Any suggestions?

Have you tried going into Synaptic and reinstalling OOo?

Another thing to try is deleting (or renaming) the .openoffice.org2 profile folder in your home directory (it may have a different name if you have a different version of OpenOffice installed).

I regularly set this default for other people, and haven't seen it fail like this before.
