I am actually looking to set up the exact same thing for my 5 year old. I will give Qimo a try.

Ok, I think I am going to try using the Netbook Remix since it is already setup with nice large icon set. I am going to use Dan's Guardian for my internet filter on it. I may disable the network connection on it unless I am in the room just to be safe.

I think the requirements for Qimo are a bit too high for your computer.
