[Kubuntu]How do you return the Desktop Folder Widget?

as the title implies. Like the one in this picture:

I accidentally closed the folder and I wish to bring it back.

Problem: I tried looking set Appearance Settings to Folder view but it did not bring back the Widget. I am lost..... Hehe I'm new to KDE that's why.

Slow Ubuntu compared to Windows or Mac OSX, despite all the tweaking? You might have an NVidia graphics card. Read this post.

Bring up the 'add widgets' function (several ways: right-click on your panel, or select the yellow cashew-shaped thingie on your panel or in the top righthand corner of your screen). Select 'add widgets' and then select 'folder view' and 'add' it. Once it's back on your screen go into its properties (with the wrench icon on its side) and set its location to your Desktop. That should do it!
