Multiple applications and audio - 64bit Jaunty

    All -
I've got an issue with audio from more than one application at a time. If any application sends audio to the speakers no other application can use them until I've exited the first application.

For example if I watch a Youtube video in Firefox and then try to make a call with Skype or watch a DVD with mplayer I'll get an audio error. If I exit out of Firefox then I can use mplayer or Skype without an issue.

So how can I get two applications to use the audio output system at the same time?

Re: Multiple applications and audio - 64bit Jaunty

I recently had this problem, and went through this tutorial
(http://www.ubuntugeek.com/simple-gui...ope-users.html) to fix it. In particular, switching my sound system to Pulse Audio seemed to do the trick.

    Hope that helps!
