Moving windows with alt+f7 more easily in compiz

When using metacity, moving windows with the keyboard (after pressing alt+f7) was quite easy. The windows would snap to borders, and by pressing shift + the arrow keys, the window would be moved with larger steps.

Doing the same manuever with compiz is a bit more cumbersome. Is there a way to get the "move window" plugin to behave more like metacity? I couldn't find any relevant options in CompizConfig.

Re: Moving windows with alt+f7 more easily in compiz

I have a related issue, with several different machines running Ubuntu 11.10.

On some machines I can move windows using Alt F7 and then Shift + arrow keys to "jump move" the window to the edge of the screen with one tap on an arrow key. On other machines using the Shift key like this has no effect.

The machines where this works were fresh installs, but for the life of me I cannot figure out where to turn on the feature. I have tried CompizConfig Settings Manager (CCSM) but the Move window plugin has very few options (and they are identical across all my machines).

(I have a exactly the same issue with resizing Windows...)

Any ideas on how to solve this would be greatly appreciated.
