Starting a programme in full screen

Is there a way to start a programme in full screen mode?

If anyone's interested in why I'm asking, I want my PC to act like a Media Centre by defualt. I've just added XBMC to my Sessions list (in Hardy) and I want it to start in full screen.

all you have to do it to write "man {and the name of the app}" in the terminal
you will get the manual that will show you the letters you will have to write after the name of the app on sessions list

do you want me to find it for you?

Hmm, it says there's no entry for it

    Code:
    sillingworth@sillingworth-laptop:~$ man xbmc
    No manual entry for xbmc
See 'man 7 undocumented' for help when manual pages are not available.

    Acetastic!

Now to figure out why the screen keeps going blank -is there an option somewhere to disable the screensaver or sceen blanking when something's running fullscreen?

Yeah, I was thinking that too. Especially since I'm making XBMC the default interface, so it'll be in full screen all the time anyway!

    Thanks!
