For those lurking, we've discovered that "some" DOS programs crash with segfault errors on kernels beyond 2.6.27-11 but function fine on 2.6.27-11.

um, who is 'We'? and how does DOS have anything to do with Linux? Did you mean Command line based programs? Which ones?
The "we" is those of us who work in the United States Courts. The DOS program is TurboCAT which is used in dosemu on Ubuntu which, last time I checked, was Linux. Is that helpful? I believe it's a kernel issue. Please don't suggest dosbox. It doesn't work. Thank you.
