2 Dell D610 laptops, with different graphics cards

I didn't know whether to post this here or in "Multimedia" but here goes.

I have two Dell D610 laptops that I bought used. Both have 1 GB RAM and an Intel Pentium M 1.86 GHz.

"jekyllandhyde" has an "Intel Corporation Mobile 915GM/GMS/910GML Express Graphics Controller", and is a dual-boot WinXP/Ubuntu 9.04

"scrat" has a "VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc M22 [Mobility Radeon X300]" and is running Ubuntu 8.10

I have a Flip Mino HD camcorder.

When I download the videos off of the camcorder onto "jekyllandhyde", they play without skipping. When I download/play the same videos onto "scrat", the one which I would think had the faster video card, the audio is still fine but the video skips like crazy.

    Any guesses?
