    Noob to linux, help needed!

Hi, I have literally just installed Ubuntu using parallels desktop.

In the system preferences I can only set my screen resolution to 1024x768, it's the highest it goes. Is there a way of getting it up to 1900x1200 resolution? I'm on a 17" Macbook Pro.

Please bear in mind I know nothing about the Linux Terminal or how to use it (let alone any terminal, haha).

    Thanks, Tom.

you will need to isntall the parallels tools to get better support for graphics. Unfortunately, I do not think they support Jaunty yet.

You could try VirtualBox (it is free).

    What is Jaunty?

I don't know how to install Parallels Tools either, would you mind running me through the process?

Jaunty is the name of the most recent stable Ubuntu release.

These are really questions that are specific to parallels and should be handled through their support.

My apologies, this place looks pretty resourceful though.
