Question encrypt and password protect usb flash

    Hi
First, I have searched the forum for an answer, no luck.

I want to create a secure usb flash for different important stuff.

I want it to be usable across different machines with different OS and user rights - Ubuntu, Osx, XP (no privileges).

    Main priority is password protection.
    Secondary priority is encryption.

    Is this possible?

    Thanks
    Carsten

Use Truecrypt. It is open source, and among the best cross platform encryption tools. You can allocate most of your drive for a TrueCrypt volume, leaving some space to store the binaries for different platforms.
    Take a look here:http://www.ghacks.net/2008/12/14/enc...th-true-crypt/

Yeah, should have said I allready tried that (on a ubuntu partition). But as far as I remember, I need to have Truecrypt installed on the computer for it to work. I want a USB I can use everywhere, also on systems where i don't have admin privileges.
