GDM Not saving theme changes

For some reason GDM will not allow me to select a theme. I deleted every theme except the one I want to use and it still tries to use the old (Human) theme. If I select a theme in the "Login Window" preferences, close the window and open it back up again, it is no longer selected.

Any thoughts? This is driving me crazy. I am on 9.04.

Probably your permissions are are incorrectly set and you have not allowed yourself to make changes to the desktop.
