Question Ubuntu 9.04 strange wireless problem

    Hey guys,
i recently installed ubuntu 9.04 on my spare pc. fresh install no upgrade or anything. my wireless was working perfectly! belkin wireless g desktop card f5d7000. once, accidentally, i switched off the ups while it was shutting down. when i rebooted, it gave me some kind of error saying "automatic fsck could not be performed please perform manual fsck" and the gui had been shut down so i just typed in fsck and said yes to everything that prompted me. i could boot into the gui after that and everything was fine, except, my wireless. it keeps prompting me for a password for the wireless and whenever i type it in, i just wont work. it keeps prompting me...anyone have the same problem??

I did once. Make sure you are choosing the correct encryption protocol. There are two types of WEP to choose from.

When you enter the wireless password you should have a choice above it to pick which type of encryption you want. It should be a drop down list.

If you turn your encryption off then you should not be prompted for a password. If you turn it off can you connect to the network?
