Looking for a tutorial on creating a Live USB

Hi,

I have a Asus 1000HE netbook that I would like to try Ubuntu on, but don't really want to go about building an external CD/DVD rom to do it, and wondering if there is a way to take the 9.04 CD and turn it into a Live USB key? I want to be able to test out the hardware before I install it. How would I go about doing this from either a Windows XP or Vista machine?
