Hi! I am looking for some software that I can use to cut up video clips and edit parts out. can anyone help with some suggestions?
Here are a couple I'm aware of:
Kino (can import from a DV camera)
Pitivi (available through add/remove)
Cenerella
Good luck!
I'm into video editing too: one of the reasons I keep Windows around is to run video editing software, partly out of familiarity with the software I use, and partly out of the need to do more than what I can do with some of the Linux-friendly offerings I've seen.

Thanks for that. just to clarify in case someone else has some ideas, it's not so much vid camera video I want to edit as mpeg4 i.e. ripped DVDs
Project X might be one for the list when it comes to MPEG2.
I'm still looking for a linux replacement for cuttermaran.....
Thanks for your help. Kino seems to be pretty much what I looking for.
