Everyones profits are down, times of finacial crisis. Nothing much to see here, I have no doubt Microsoft will bounce back.
What does this new development mean to Bill's personal fortune?
Will Linux be kind enough to provide employment to him when MS goes bankrupt?
He might help linux with his superior coding skills. That Blue Screen of Death is something that linux programers cant yet get to work properly and consistently while windows mastered that long time ago.
im going to have to chalk this one up to a mix of things. i think that the slowly forming depression where falling into has people watching there steps, and THINKING for once about what there buying, that includes what software they are investing(in every sense of the word) in. home users can't afford 400 -600 for some new version of windows, and companies have to cut costs. so, switching to ubuntu(or some other distro) is something people are final looking at in a serious way. also, ubuntu is getting REALLY AWESOME! so that helps.
