Can't install firefox on kubuntu 9.04?

It just stays at querying with a horizontally moving bar. Why doesn't ubuntu just come with firefox preinstalled? konqueror is pure garbage.

how are you trying to install firefox, what method did you use ?

edit: to answer your question, i believe that there wasn't enough room on the live cd plus konq is a kde web browser.

i inserted the DVD, and when i ran the installer again, it got stuck at 5%. I've had experience with linux, particularly openSuse , which i spent 60 hours total trying to get that (Kde) to run efficiently but no luck. If ubuntu isn't going to include the 2nd most popular web browser and the arguably the best one, because of EULA, then atleast make sure it can be installed flawlessly with the disc or so.

Anyway i think its best if this all ended here and i hopped to different distro. thanks for the effort inobe.
