On-board graphics playing up.
A few quick specs:
-Biostar MCP6P M2+ motherboard.
-AMD Athlon 64 2GHz Dual Core processor.
-2Gb of RAM
-NVIDIA GeForce 6150 on-board graphics processor.
-Ubuntu Hardy Heron
I just put my PC together last weekend. Everything went fine, computer works well, Ubuntu installed fine. When i started up Ubuntu, it asked to install the proper drivers for my chipset, and it did, and it worked fine. Graphics were perfect, desktop effects worked, sound was working fine.
However.. i switch my pc on today and i'm greeted with a message saying that my Ubuntu is running is low-graphics mode, because my graphics card couldn't be detected. I'm now stuck in 800x600 resoution.. no effects.. no sound.. also.. my keyboard seems to have reverted from the British layout back to the American layout, with the @ symbol on the 2 key. No settings had been changed in the BIOS, hardware hadn't been touched. Only thing i can think of is that i installed all the updates that needed downloading. Could this have caused it? Please help.. 800x600 is killing me slowly..
Re: On-board graphics playing up.
Sounds like a driver issue. Try reinstalling Ubuntu and see what happens.
