Guide to modifying sensitivity of Aiptek Slim Tablet 600U

I got a rebranded Aiptek 600u (a.k.a. WALTOP) graphic tablet recently, and after getting it to work under Ubuntu (using the instructions here, I wasn't satisfied with the sensitivity of the tip -- it required too much pressure to register at all that the tip was pressed.

So, after playing around with the settings, I realized that it was a hardware issue, and not something which could be fixed by software. Attached is an extremely beautiful diagram of how I modified my stylus pen, and I was satisfied with the results. I disclaim responsibility for any damage that might be caused as a result of you trying to carry this out, but I can say that it worked for me, and I'm pleased with the results.
